 In 1965, the National Dairy Development Board (NDDB) was formed. Kurien was appointed as its founder chairman.

 Farmers received unpaid wages anywhere in the world. Milk production increased from 40% to 48%.


 India became the highest-paid country in the world when its milk was sold to the public.


 Varghese Kurian founded the superhuman institute of rural management in Gujarat to provide administrative training and research support to co-operatives being established in India.


 Kurien has played a key role in growing the Indian dairy and agriculture industry globally and becoming the first country in the world of dairy products.


 The white revolutionary who contributed to the dairy sector with his intellect, enthusiasm and youth was honored with a doctorate by the United States of America.
